Mandra Workshop is an architecture and design studio founded by Marco Mandra, built on the belief that good architecture is honest, functional, and grounded in craft. The firm works across residential and commercial projects throughout New York and Connecticut, and is known for designs that merge technical precision with warmth, texture, and a strong sense of place.
Every project begins with a clear design intent shaped by place, program, and the way people live. That intent is carried through with a strong understanding of construction, allowing ambitious ideas to be realized in a way that feels natural, durable, and distinctly local. Sustainability and material integrity guide the work, with each design shaped by its environment and the people who inhabit it.
At Mandra Workshop, architecture is driven by design intent and thoughtful decision-making. Our process is shaped by an understanding of real-world conditions, including budget, constructability, and regulatory context, allowing projects to move forward with clarity and confidence.
From early feasibility studies through construction, we remain actively involved to ensure the design intent is carried through.
Marco Mandra, RA
Born and raised in the Bronx, Marco began his career in construction, learning the craft of building from the ground up alongside his father. That experience shaped his practical approach to architecture, balancing creativity with buildability and a deep respect for the trades.
After earning his degree from Florida Atlantic University and becoming a licensed architect, Marco founded Mandra Workshop PLLC in 2019 to bring that philosophy to life.
Today, Marco lives with his wife and their two children, continuing to explore the intersection of design, building, and family life. Outside the studio, he is often in the workshop, woodworking, sketching, or outdoors, still guided by the same hands-on curiosity that first pulled him into construction.
